Digital Video Designs: by Karl Rosenberg, Extron (Eligible for 1CTS RU)

An overview of the potential problems and pitfalls associated with incorporating various digital video formats in audiovisual systems design and implementation. Will include discussion of DVI, HDMI, HDCP, EDID, DisplayPort and other digital video transmission technologies.

Impact of HDMI & DVI on Systems Integration by Max Kopsho, Kramer Electronics (Eligible for 3CTS RU)

An in-depth look at analogue vs digital HD video technologies including a detailed discussion about HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort 1.3. specifications and technology. Included are a review of how to maintain a balance between quality and performance vs. budget and simplicity in AV design, the potential advantages and disadvantages of incorporating digital video, as well as a demonstration of analogue HD vs. digital HD performance.

Max Kopsho, CTS, MCSE is Kramer Electronic’s Director of Training and Consultant Relations. He is an InfoComm Academy instructor and a member of InfoComm’s Professional and Educational Technologies Committee.

Aspect Ratio & Image Resolution: by Karl Rosenberg, Extron (Eligible for 1CTS RU)

An overview of the many aspect ratio and image resolutions common in today’s AV systems, along with the skills necessary to troubleshoot and resolve source/display issues. Will include a discussion of how signal processing technologies can be used to optimize images.

Current & Emerging Technologies for Education by Max Kopsho, Kramer Electronics (Eligible for 3CTS RU)

An in-depth discussion of the convergence of AV and IT in the classroom environment that will include a review of current and emerging technology trends in both K-12 and post-secondary education. The course will also cover the fundamentals of IT specifications, transition to digital video in classrooms, digital signal interfaces, audio and video transmission and compression technologies as well as application and case studies.
